Maintenance Updates

Maintenance updates are offered free of charge to all registered users. These updates are released as necessary to correct existing issues in the software or make functional adjustments to the features.

KaleidaGraph v5.0.2 Updater

This update builds on the solid performance and reliability that customers are already enjoying with KaleidaGraph v5 by addressing a few issues reported by customers.

Changes from v5.0.1 to v5.0.2:

  • Addressed an issue with aliases to folders on an SMB share. The SMB location must already be mounted for the aliases to work.
  • Addressed a calculation error when using the Zoom Selection tool.

Changes from v5.0.0 to v5.0.1:

  • Addressed an issue with plots not being scaled correctly when exported with the Minimize White Space option selected.
  • Addressed a row height issue in the data window. The default row height of 20 was not properly applied, causing the row height to be larger than it should be. The default row height can be set in the Column portion of the Preferences dialog.
  • Addressed an issue when trying to use a Library function to create a Function plot.
  • Addressed an issue where adding a split did not mark the data window as being edited.
  • Addressed an issue where a small rectangle was erased in the first and/or last axis label if Erase Background was selected.

Note: This updater will only work if the release version of KaleidaGraph v5.0.0 or v5.0.1 is already installed and personalized on your computer. It will not work on beta versions (indicated by a B in the version number).

To use the updater after it is downloaded:

  • Open the KG502Updater.dmg file and launch the KGUpdater application.
  • After clicking Next on the initial screen, click the Find button to locate and select your existing KaleidaGraph 5.0 application.
  • Click Install.
  • Once the update is complete, click Quit.

KaleidaGraph v4.5.4 Updaters

This update addresses a few important issues reported by customers in v4.5. Note: These updaters will only work if you have v4.5 already installed and personalized on your computer. Make sure your current version of KaleidaGraph is not running when you perform the update.

  • Addressed an issue in the Mac version that could prevent some of the controls from being displayed in the Save dialog.
  • Addressed an issue in the Mac version that prevented KaleidaGraph from opening newer Excel files with a .xlsx extension.
  • Addressed an issue in the Mac version that could prevent the Deg and Rad buttons from being displayed in Formula Entry and the General Curve Fit Definition dialog.
  • Addressed an issue when trying to apply more than 20 smoothing curve fits (Smooth, Weighted, Cubic Spline, or Interpolate) on a single plot.

Note: The update to OS 10.13.4 addressed an issue where some text or objects were missing from exported images if the plot contained a long text string.

KaleidaGraph v4.1.x Updaters

This update addresses a few important issues reported by customers in v4.0. Note: These updaters will only work if you have v4.0.x already installed and personalized on your computer.

  • Added support for the Intel Mac. The installer will install the correct version based on the processor in your computer.
  • Bitmap file export such as BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG, and TIFF now uses QuickTime to generate the export files. As a result, several new options are available for some of the formats such as byte ordering, LZW compression, and variable JPEG export quality.
  • The v4.1.3 Mac updater addresses an issue where the program could crash when trying to choose the Open, Save, or Print commands under OS 10.7.2 or later. It could still crash under OS 10.9.2 or later when trying to save files in a different format. This is fixed in the v4.5.4 update.
