Why are my fill patterns being lost when exporting or printing images?

If the plot contains objects with fill patterns in v4.5, exporting the plots at high resolution may cause the fill patterns to lose their patterns and appear to be a solid color. This is because the method of achieving the higher resolution images involves scaling the images up in size, but the fill patterns cannot be scaled in the same manner.

Upgrading to v5 should improve this. Another option is to assign a solid fill to the objects and use different colors or shades of gray. These will behave much more predictably when exporting the plots at high resolution. If you would need more color choices, you can use the Edit Colors command (Object menu) to edit the color palette.
