I am running into problems trying to install an update/upgrade.

Make sure you exit out of KaleidaGraph before running the updater.

The Mac updater will fail if you try to update the application in a disk image.

If the updater is taking a long time to run, disconnect any external or network drives and try running it again.

Launch your current copy of KaleidaGraph and verify that you don’t already have the version you are trying to update to. The version number appears on the splash screen as well as in the About KaleidaGraph dialog.

Reinstall you current copy of KaleidaGraph, personalize it, and try running the updater again.

The v5 Windows updater comes in two forms – one for the single-user version and one for the network version. If one fails, try the other. The network updater needs to be used on the computer where the original application is installed.

The KaleidaGraph for Windows updater expects to find a file called KGraph.exe. If you rename the KaleidaGraph executable, the updater will fail.
