How do I open a saved layout and get the plots in the right locations?

In v4.0 and later, save a Group Layout file. The plots and layout will be saved in the same file.

If you have a standard layout file instead of a group layout file, close any plots that are currently open before opening the layout file. As long as no plots are open, the layout will show empty cells with various position numbers. The position numbers correspond to the position of the plot in the Select Plot menu. Once you start to open your plots, the last plot opened will be placed in Position 1, the second to last plot opened will be in position 2, etc. By opening the plots in the reverse order, you can get the plots in the desired locations.
