How are Text columns handled in a formula?

If a Text column is used as part of a function in Formula Entry, incorrect values will be calculated. If the values are being read from the Text column, KaleidaGraph will read the value as 1 + index(). If you try to store the results of a formula in a Text column, the same value will appear in all of the cells of that column.
