Maintenance Updates
Maintenance updates are offered free of charge to all registered users. These updates are released as necessary to correct existing issues in the software or make functional adjustments to the features.
KaleidaGraph v5.0 Updaters
These updates build on the solid performance and reliability that customers are already enjoying with KaleidaGraph v5 by addressing a few issues reported by customers. The updaters will work or any release version of KaleidaGraph 5 and bring it up to the latest version.
Note: These updaters will only work if the release version of KaleidaGraph v5 is already installed and personalized on your computer. They will not work on beta versions (indicated by a B in the version number).

Mac v5.0.6 Updater
Changes from v5.0.5 to v5.0.6
- Addressed an issue when editing a marker in the Y2 legend of a Bubble plot.
- Made a change that prevents the plot area from being deleted or erased.
To use the updater after it is downloaded:
- Open the KG506Updater.dmg file and launch the KGUpdater application.
- After clicking Next on the initial screen, click the Find button to locate and select your existing KaleidaGraph 5.0 application.
- Click Install.
- Once the update is complete, click Quit.
Windows v5.0.5 Updaters
Changes from v5.0.4 to v5.0.5:
- Addressed an issue with window positioning when using multiple monitors.
- Addressed an issue when importing text files with an extremely large number of columns.
- Addressed issues in the script() and sload functions.
- Addressed a macro issue when converting v4.5 macros that contained empty strings.
- Improved Line plot clipping for a special case at the axis limits.
Note: There are separate updaters for the single-user and network licenses. Most users will need the single-user updater. If one fails, try the other.
To use the updater after it is downloaded:
- Open the .zip file that was downloaded.
- Launch the updater application. (If a Windows Defender warning pops up, click More Info and click Run anyway. The installer is digitally signed, so it is safe to run.)
- Click Update.
- Once the update is complete, click Finish.
KaleidaGraph v4.5.4 Updaters
This update addresses a few important issues reported by customers in v4.5. Note: These updaters will only work if you have v4.5 already installed and personalized on your computer. Make sure your current version of KaleidaGraph is not running when you perform the update.
- Addressed an issue in the Mac version that could prevent some of the controls from being displayed in the Save dialog.
- Addressed an issue in the Mac version that prevented KaleidaGraph from opening newer Excel files with a .xlsx extension.
- Addressed an issue in the Mac version that could prevent the Deg and Rad buttons from being displayed in Formula Entry and the General Curve Fit Definition dialog.
- Addressed an issue when trying to apply more than 20 smoothing curve fits (Smooth, Weighted, Cubic Spline, or Interpolate) on a single plot.
Note: The update to OS 10.13.4 addressed an issue where some text or objects were missing from exported images if the plot contained a long text string.
Mac users: If you get an error launching the updater saying “Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers,” control-click the application and choose Open. Click the Open button in the warning dialog that appears.
Make a note of your serial number before running the updater. You will need to enter it the first time you launch v4.5.4. The serial number is a number – it does not contain any letters.
