Failed to update the system registry. Please try using regedit.

Try re-installing the software under the Administrator account. If you uninstalled an earlier version or a demo version, the registry information may have been removed.

If using an older version of the software, this problem can be fixed by getting an update to the current version.

The problem can also be fixed by following these steps: 

  1. Choose Start > Run and enter regedt32.exe
  2. Navigate to the one of the following keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{8FF76521-3586-11D1-AA05-00609793741E}, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\KGraph_Plot
  3. Select the key and choose Security > Permissions.
  4. Select the user in the dialog and click Advanced.
  5. With that user still selected, click View/Edit.
  6. Turn on the check boxes for Set Value, Create Subkey, and Delete.
  7. Click OK to all of the dialogs.
  8. Repeat the process for the other key.
